Job Purpose
The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities related to landscaping materials, plants, trees, soil, nursery supplies, irrigation components, and outsourced landscaping services. This role ensures the sourcing of high-quality, cost-effective materials, establishes strong supplier relationships, and aligns procurement activities with both project and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement procurement strategies for landscaping materials, plants, and nursery supplies.

Analyze market trends, pricing, and the availability of both local and international plant species.

Coordinate with nurseries and project teams to forecast seasonal plant needs.

Supplier Management

Identify, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers, nurseries, and landscaping service providers.

Conduct supplier performance reviews to assess quality, delivery, and compliance.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and long-term agreements.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply.

Procurement Execution

Oversee the sourcing of plants, trees, soil mixes, fertilizers, irrigation components, and other landscaping materials.

Ensure all procured items meet required specifications, quality standards, and sustainability guidelines.

Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and logistics planning.

Monitor vendor compliance with phytosanitary requirements and import regulations where applicable.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with landscape engineers, agronomists, and nursery managers to define technical specifications.

Work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Support budgeting, cost estimation, and BOQs for landscaping projects.

Risk & Cost Management

Develop strategies to mitigate procurement risks, such as plant shortages or seasonal fluctuations.

Optimize procurement costs while maintaining high-quality standards.

Monitor inventory levels and work with nurseries to prevent waste.

Reporting & Compliance

Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Prepare regular procurement status reports for senior management.

Follow relevant functional policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures to ensure work is carried out consistently and in a controlled manner.

Assist in preparing timely and accurate procurement reports to meet corporate and functional requirements.

Implement safety, quality, and environmental management policies to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, and high-quality product delivery.

Promote a responsible environmental approach in all procurement activities.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Agriculture, Horticulture, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 7–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in landscaping, horticulture, nurseries, or agricultural procurement.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of plant species, nursery operations, and landscaping materials.

Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.

Familiarity with import requirements and phytosanitary regulations (preferred).

Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
-
Excellent organizational skills, including inventory management, budget tracking, and record-keeping.

Attention to detail, particularly in identifying and resolving quality issues and ensuring accurate documentation of all purchases.
