Job Purpose

 

To manage projects and/or programs execution related to marine and coastal engineering scope of work through supervising the integration of the marine and coastal engineering activities with other design/engineering disciplines, enhancing the design value engineering and optioneering, managing and administrate engineering risks through different design stages, monitoring project execution and quality plans implementation, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and reviewing design deliverables quality and values to ensure achieving RSG’s executive vision according to the highest quality and environmental standards.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Job Responsibilities - Leadership

 

Functional/Technical Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Build and lead integrated design process by setting design values and objectives, managing lead engineer or contractor performance, and providing ongoing feedback to meet the functional challenges and goals. 

Value Engineering and Optioneering

  • Assist in the monitoring and evaluation design development estimated cost related to marine and coastal engineering activities by identify unsatisfactory performance areas, and capitalized performance improvement opportunities.
  • Implement the strategic agenda of the marine and coastal engineering function to assure that developed design according to RSG’s vision and mission.

Marine and Coastal Engineering:

  • Oversee and ensure detailed feedback is provided on consultant and service provider documentation at all stages of the project from initial design to implementation, to ensure all efforts are aligned and projects are compliant with the RSG’s standards and overall objectives.
  • Monitoring the coordination marine and coastal infrastructure design phases through coordinating design process with other disciplines in a timely and effective manner as per RSG’s policies and procedures and project-specific approvals from management.
  • Monitor the progress and completion of the marine and coastal aspects of projects through their development lifecycle to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the project.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

 

Continuous Improvement  

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Senior management, non-Project Delivery stakeholders such as logistics and operations and hospitality teams, environmental (GES) team, procurement and cost and commercial teams, various Project Delivery functions such as:

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant marine or coastal engineering experience with 4 years in a managerial position
