Role & Responsibilities:
- The Beach Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all beach maintenance activities to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and visitors. This role involves overseeing daily maintenance tasks, managing a team of maintenance staff, and implementing best practices for beach care and safety.
Daily Operations:
- Supervise the daily maintenance activity of the beach area, including cleaning, litter collection, and equipment upkeep.
- Ensure the beach is prepared and maintained to meet high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling. -Provide guidance and support to ensure staff perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
Facility Upkeep:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of beach facilities and equipment, such as restrooms, showers, walkways, and recreational equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the beach area meets all safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols for staff and visitors.
Environmental Stewardship:
- Promote and practice environmentally friendly maintenance practices.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs to minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with environmental agencies and organizations as needed.
Guest Services:
- Address guest inquiries and concerns related to beach maintenance and cleanliness.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, staff performance, and equipment status.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on maintenance operations, budget expenditures, and any issues encountered.
Specific Operational Responsibilities
- Involvement in managing and advising on any issues involving Marine related asset, such as the Beaches, Bridges, Coastal Areas, Marina, Quay walls, and Rock Revetments (Groins) from a multidisciplinary point of view, from design, construction, commissioning/ handover in consideration with operational requirements.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and design related to Marine works and assets.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops operational and management procedures related to Marine works and assets.
- Develop specialist contractor’s scope of works (SOW) for any specialist marine maintenance works.
- Oversee the operations and maintenance on the beach that includes cleaning, maintenance and ADHOC works.
- Provide equipment selection for all maintenance equipment and machineries related to marine operations
Requirements:
- Diploma /Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred).
- Proven experience 10 years out of which typically 3+ years in maintenance management, preferably in a coastal or recreational setting.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety regulations, and environmental best practices.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and proactive with a strong commitment to maintaining a high-quality beach environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
