Manager - Operations Readiness Projects

Job Purpose

 

The PMO Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Operational Readiness in creating and maintaining a world-class visitor experience through operational readiness and operational performance management. This role involves developing and implementing integrated programs, managing standards’ compliance, risks and project performance to deliver operations for RSG. This role requires excellent problem solving, team working, communication skills and ability to work under pressure regularly to meet tight deadlines. 

 

In the Pre-opening phase, the PMO Manager will be required to develop a detailed integrated project program for specific projects for some of the operations functions. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all relevant dependencies have been identified and captured in the program.  They will follow up on the progress of deliverables with the internal and external stakeholders on weekly basis to ensure timely delivery.  They will be required to update progress trackers and prepare weekly reports in collaboration with Senior Ops Readiness Specialist.  They will also attend the weekly progress meetings with the senior management and provide progress updates to Ops Readiness Director. They will be responsible for creating and updating the progress / issues trackers & risk register. They will also be involved in overseeing the delivery & implementation of standards, document control, development, and conducting compliance audits, development and management of SLAs / KPIs and Management reporting of progress and performance management.  

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Pre-opening 

 

  • Working closely with Ops Readiness team and other internal and external stakeholders to develop & implement detailed integrated mobility program for a given function  

  • Ensure milestones & activities are clearly identified and aligned with all project objectives and deadlines. 

  • Ensure logic sequence is developed, interdependencies are captured in the program, and the critical path is clearly defined.  

  • Develop a project deliverable list for each phase and ensure it is captured in the program and is kept up to date.  

  • Co-ordinate with Ops Readiness team to ensure the program is kept up to date, and brief the operations team on progress weekly / bi weekly. 

  • Provide justifications for the program variances and recommend solutions.  

  • Develop and manage Power BI dashboards. 

  • Working closely with operations teams, ensure timely readiness of SLAs & KPIs 

  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports in timely manner. 

  • Prepare necessary presentations as requested by the management.   

  • Take ownership of the risk register for a specific function(s) and ensure it is fit for purpose and kept up to date. 

  • Provide project management support during tendering, contract award, and mobilization phase of mobility contracts. 

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.  

  • Identify potential risks, issues, and challenges and report them to the associate mobility projects director. 

 

 

Operational 

 

  • Develop and manage necessary trackers and reporting systems. 

  • Provide inputs to business planning and budgeting team 

  • Responsible for PMO activities such as tracking, reporting and validating operations, maintenance & contractual KPIs / SLA

  • Review and maintain operations excellence policies and procedures and ensure their compliance, consistency, and alignment with project-wide governance requirements. 

  • Manage mobility risks and develop risk management plans.   

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified ideally in a science-based subject 

  • Project Management qualifications such as PMP, APM, PMI, etc would be ideal. 

  • 8 years of Project Management / PMO / Project Controls experience in consulting environment is preferred. 

  • Experience in using MS Project / P6 or similar planning tools. 

  • Experience of working in an Operations & Maintenance environment of major transport project would be advantageous. 

  • Experience of producing high quality reports & presentations 

  • Proven experience of working in high pressure environment 

  • Experience in working with Government partners and stakeholders 

  • Project management of a complex integrated workstream 

  • Communicates well and consistently at the managerial level down to large teams of the workforce 

  • Collaborates well with other business functions

Job Context

 

This is a manager role, reporting to the Director Operational Readiness.  Job holder in this role will work closely with Mobility Operations Specialist, Senior management, and the 3rd party consultants and operators.
