Job Purpose
The Nursery Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all logistics activities related to plant importation, sourcing, receiving, quarantine, storage, and dispatch. The role ensures plant quality, biosecurity compliance, and timely support to landscape project requirements.
This position acts as a critical link between Procurement, Nurseries, Freight Forwarders, Biosecurity, and Project Delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Import & International Logistics
- Coordinate the importation of plants and trees from local and international suppliers, including containerized and loose shipments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal clearance teams to ensure smooth EXW, CIF, or DDP shipments.
- Ensure all import permits, phytosanitary certificates, SABER registration, and customs documentation are complete and approved prior to shipment arrival.
- Track shipment schedules and proactively manage delays, damages, or compliance risks.
2. Receiving, Unloading & Quarantine
- Supervise receiving and unloading of all plant shipments, ensuring correct quantities, specifications, and plant health standards.
- Coordinate inspection, quarantine, and acclimatization processes with Biosecurity and Quality teams.
- Ensure proper tagging, documentation, and inventory entry of all received plants.
- Manage corrective actions for rejected, damaged, or non‑compliant plant material.
3. Plant Sourcing & Supplier Coordination
- Support plant sourcing activities in coordination with Procurement and Nursery Production teams to meet project demand.
- Liaise with approved nurseries and suppliers on availability, lead times, and specifications.
- Participate in supplier inspections, tagging, and pre‑shipment quality verification when required.
4. Plant Dispatch & Distribution
- Plan and execute daily plant dispatches to RSG projects, AMAALA, and external clients, ensuring species, size, and quality compliance.
- Coordinate loading operations, transport scheduling, and dispatch documentation.
- Ensure plants are properly prepared, packaged, and protected during transport to minimize losses.
5. Inventory & Documentation Control
- Maintain accurate logistics records for:
- Imported and locally sourced plants
- Plant movement (receiving, quarantine, storage, dispatch)
- Logistics tracking and delivery reports
- Update logistics trackers and inventory systems to support planning and reporting.
6. Compliance, Quality & Safety
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with Saudi regulations, nursery standards, and biosecurity protocols.
- Enforce safe unloading, handling, and transport practices.
- Coordinate with HSSE teams to ensure compliance during all logistics operations.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, SOPs, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
- 5–8 years’ experience in nursery, agriculture, or landscaping logistics (plant import experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of plant handling, quarantine, and biosecurity requirements.
- Experience with containerized shipments and international plant imports is an advantage.
- Proven experience in process improvement and implementation of best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
