Job Purpose
Lead, manage and oversee the MEP testing, commissioning and handover stage of the hotels, residences and other building assets. Develop processes and procedures for the testing, commissioning, and handover. Review the current designs and advise on commissionability. Procure commission agents to deliver a high-quality service. Ensure the consultants drawings and specifications comply with our procedures and standards and ensure that the deliverables are submitted and works are executed by the consultants as agreed in terms of quality, standards, materials, schedule and cost in order to meet Red Sea Global (RSG) business objectives and requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Contribution
-
Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual business plan, and target and implement the strategic agenda of the Engineering function to deliver RSG’s vision and mission.

Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Engineering function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy.
Leadership
-
Direct the activities of the project and engineering team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.

Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performances and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.

Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG’s vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources and continuously improve performance.
People Management

Estimate and forecast the number and qualification of the project and engineering workforce needed to avoid shortage of staff and ensure on-time delivery.

Supervise and evaluate employees’ performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize potential and engagement of employees through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.

Contribute to the identification of the respective employees’ training and developmental needs and bridge the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous progression and high-level of competence within the team.
Engineering Leadership

Oversee the preparation of tender documents, contribute in defining the design specifications of materials and the scope of work, and initiate the bidding process to appoint a contractor/consultant.

Oversee the development of program and project delivery schedule by defining development phases and road maps for project teams to ensure that time and cost are managed effectively and efficiently.

Lead the review of the programs and projects ensuring stakeholder engagement and alignment with the relevant functions.

Oversee the monitoring of program and project progress through site visits and reviewing of reports from Engineering Directors to ensure that project implementation is progressing according to plan and quality required.

Manage relationships with the consultants and subconsultants, plan upcoming works, oversee the quality of work and recommend appropriate design material specifications to ensure that project delivery date and parameters are met.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Leading the alignment of infrastructure strategies with key stakeholders.
Safety, Quality & Environment

Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Job Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical or any related field

PE certified or equivalent (preferred)
-
25+ years of experience in consultancy or contractors with 15 years in a senior leadership position.
