Job Purpose

Associate Project Director -MEP

Red Sea Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Project Director specializing in MEP systems to join our team. As the Project Director - MEP, you will be responsible for overseeing all MEP aspects of our projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Lead and manage all aspects of MEP projects from initiation to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. To manage the construction team and contractors and monitor the development process to ensure that the works are executed by the contractor as agreed in terms of quality, standards and materials as well as ensure budget and deliverable dates are met as per Red Sea Global's  business objectives and requirements.

Job Responsibilities - Leadership

Strategic Contribution 
• Assist with the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and execute the strategic agenda of the Construction function to deliver RSG vision and mission. 
• Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Construction function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy. 

Leadership 
• Coordinate the activities of the Construction team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures. 
• Manage the team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals. 
• Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance. 

Budget 
• Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Job Responsibilities - Functional

Project Management 
• Define development phases as a road map for the contractors to lead them through the projects in order to ensure that projects are managed time-efficiently and cost-effectively. 
• Assist with reviewing and studying the detailed project design and obtain relevant details from the relevant functions to clarify technical aspects and material used in the project and provide inputs to contribute towards cost planning. 
• Manage Senior Projects Managers and provide guidance and feedback to ensure that the project implementation is progressing as per plan and the development and engineering aspects comply with RSG’s requirements. 
• Manage contractors and consultants through monitoring and controlling projects against budgeted costs, quality and timelines in order to ensure that the project specifications are aligned with tender documents. 
• Contribute in the negotiation of variations and disputes with the consultants and contractors and other construction professionals in order to guarantee RSG’s best interest. 

Bidding 
• Ensure tender documents are developed and obtained and assist in defining all the specs of materials used and scope of work and initiating the bidding process, in order to enable the effective selection of contractors to begin work execution. 

Risk Management 
• Manage the identification, assessment and mitigation of different aspects of risk presented on a project coming from contractors or consultants, raw materials quality and standards, and procurement cost to create preventative risk methods and avoid all delays and eventually added cost.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality and Environment
• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the department's systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Senior stakeholders, Finance and Investments function, Architecture and Design teams.

Service providers, vendors, consultants, subcontractors and contractors.

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience  minimum 18 in MEP project management, in the construction or engineering industry having overseen MEP Scope on a hospitality or major building project from start to finish.
  • Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, codes, standards, and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • PMP certification or similar credentials are a plus.

This is a site based role in umluj KSA at the Red Sea Site.
