Job Purpose

The job holder is responsible for applying the fundamental principles of environmental sciences and engineering for carrying out the activities of environmental surveys, Environmental & Social Impact Assessments, emergency response, inspection, investigation, and monitoring for all construction or operation activities that could produce any potential impacts on the environment or society. The role holder will also support planning of a technical program for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating the environmental data for determining the potential impacts and provide the technical solutions for the same.

 

Job Responsibilities - Functional

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining standardized operational procedures in accordance with environmental compliance, interpret environmental disturbance risks, and communicate with environmental regulatory authorities for compliance assistance.
  • Assist the environment & sustainability Department in creating and developing presentations or reports of environmental performance, emergency response, regulatory updates, risk assessment, stakeholders’ engagement matrixes or reports, department progress reports, and proceedings for submitting it to regulatory bodies or to be shared within RSG.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the proceedings of organizational facilities with regards to compliance laws and regulations of national and international relevant bodies.
  • Updating plans and specifications for managing the hazardous chemical substances, providing back up plan incase of emergencies like accidental spillage, and provide training to whom involved in the environmental emergency response operations.
  • Assisting in preparation of presentation files of emergency preparedness training for workers and employees, conducting workshop and seminars for training purposes, and developing the emergency management exercise
  • Conducting internal staff studies analysis for implementing the environmental procedures in regulatory compliance, preparing the reports and presentation documents regarding the monitoring programs to submit it to the regulatory authorities.
  • Assist in designing and implementing an overall Risk management process for the environment and sustainability division, which includes an analysis of the environmental impact, social impacts, and economic impact on the RSG when risks occur.
  • Analyzing the current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the project environment along with the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to evaluating the available risk mitigation measures to keep the organizational risk register updated continuously.
  • Maintaining all the process records, ESIA, CESMP, and OESMP, tracking their status, and coordinating with the regulatory authorities to review and approve these studies.
  • Review ESIA, CESMP, and OESMP reports to provide the applicable recommendation for acceptance.
  • Contribute on the environmental survey and performing bulk sampling if required, carrying out the field work if required, and maintaining proper reports of any survey sampling data.
  • Coordinating with the national environmental centers to maintain the existing collaboration and knowledge sharing and consulting them if any environmental issue has appeared during any development stage.

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering.
