Job Purpose

 

The Reception and Retail Specialist is a site-based position. The Reception and Retail Specialist is the first impression many guests will have of the Center at the asset. This first impression is crucial in delivering a high-quality visitor experience. The Reception and Retail Specialist will need to be a “people” person with an understanding of the provided activities. The Reception and Retail Specialist will be tasked with the administration of the center, as well as the retail outlet of the center. Organization is essential to deliver on this role.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

General

 

  • Reporting directly to the Center Manager, assisting in the smooth running of the center asset.
  • Assist the Senior Manager in the development of other centers at other assets.
  • Maintain a professional appearance of the center.
  • Ensure all sales are conducted in a professional manner.
  • Work remotely and visit office as and when required.
  • Manage inventory for preopening.
  • Prepare retail stock for future years.
  • Manage the purchasing budget.
  • Ensure sufficient stock.

 

Establishment of the Center: Pre-Opening

 

  • Work alongside the Center Manager to develop and deliver the centre and necessary components.
  • Working alongside and supporting all RSSE during Delivery stage to ensure targets are achieved, operational phasing is initiated when required and projects are delivered as designed.
  • Become familiar with the retail products in stock.
  • Become familiar with the activities in the area.
  • Become familiar with the courses on offer, this includes understanding the required materials, paperwork, and standards (ie prerequisites, age) necessary for specific courses.

 

Establishment of the Center: Post-Opening

 

  • All activities conducted from the Center are conducted in a professional manner.
  • Assist operation staff to ensure all daily activities are conducted in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ensure up to date and accurate records are kept pertaining to retail activities.
  • Plan and direct the day-to-day operations of a retail outlet according to company policy.
  • Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability to achieve financial goals.
  • Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient.
  • Daily attention to ethical business practises, safety, cleanliness, company appearance and uniform standards, and approved environmental practises at location, elevating significant issues to the Center Manager.
  • Ensure retail products and displays are merchandized effectively to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, co-workers, and the public.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and preparing orders from suppliers. 
  • Assisting staff/students with course registration and/or rental equipment.
  • Taking bookings and answering questions about courses/activities destinations.
  • The Center Receptionist is often the link between students and the staff Team.

  • Adopt and follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure the center operates in a controlled and consistent manner.

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee and public safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

 

Continuous Improvement   

 

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the center’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.Job Requirements

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Hospitality track record
  • Proven sales record
  • Knowledge of the reception industry’s concepts, practices and procedures

Desirable Skills

 

  • Spoken language other than English (preferably Arabic)
