Job Description:

 

The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, developing, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and plans related to golf course construction, landscape development, irrigation systems, drainage networks, cart paths, golf facilities, and associated infrastructure. The role works closely with golf course architects, engineers, project managers, agronomy teams, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely production of drawings that support project delivery and operational requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare detailed CAD drawings & BIM modelling for golf course construction and development projects.
  • Develop plans, profiles, sections, and details for golf course features including tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, lakes, cart paths, bridges, and practice facilities.
  • Prepare irrigation and drainage layout including pump station drawings in coordination with irrigation engineers and golf course consultants.
  • Update and revise drawings based on design changes, site requirements, and management feedback.
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and project closeout documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to collect measurements and verify field conditions.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure drawing integration and consistency.
  • Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain document control for all drawing revisions, submissions, and approvals.
  • Produce shop drawings and detailed construction drawings for subcontractors and partners.
  • Support project planning and execution by providing accurate drafting and technical documentation.
  • Prepare presentation drawings and visual plans when required.
  • Review consultant and contractor drawings to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
  • Maintain drawing templates, standards, and CAD libraries for golf projects.
  • Stay updated on drafting technologies, software advancements, and golf course construction best practices.

 

Qualification and Experience:

 

  • Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of drafting experience, preferably in golf course, landscape, infrastructure, or civil construction projects.
  • Experience producing construction and as-built drawings.
  • Strong understanding of grading, earthworks, irrigation, drainage, and landscape construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with GIS, SketchUp, Revit, or other design software is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of engineering drawing standards and drafting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
