Senior Specialist - Control Center
Job Purpose:
The Senior Specialist Control Center Operator will assist in the day-to-day monitoring and operation of the control center, by monitoring and coordinating their efficient operations of systems and processes. This position involves tracking real-time data, responding to alerts, and assisting in troubleshooting tasks, while ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Functional/Technical Responsibilities

System Monitoring: Continuously monitor control systems, equipment, and operations to ensure they are functioning within established parameters.

Alert Management: Respond to system alerts promptly, taking necessary actions or escalating issues to senior operators/management as needed and in line with service level standards.

Data Recording: Maintain accurate logs of system performance, incidents, and corrective actions taken during shifts.

Communication: Communicate with on-site personnel, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to coordinate responses to system anomalies.

Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing system issues, report malfunctions, and work with duty managers in land, air and marine mobility to resolve problems.

Operational Support: Support the operation by ensuring compliance with safety protocols, mobility and company procedures.

Report Generation: Assist in generating routine and ad-hoc reports on system performance, incidents, and operational activities.

Shift Coverage: Work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to ensure continuous 24/7 operation of the control center
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Qualification and Experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or similar) is an advantage.

Experience: Previous experience in a control center, operations, or monitoring role is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with operational procedures in time critical environments and/or previous experience in an emergency response or control room setting will be advantageous.
Skills:

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of control systems, monitoring software, and operational equipment is preferred.

Communication Skills: Sound written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions clearly and effectively communicate with team members.

Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess situations and take appropriate action, or escalate to senior staff when necessary.

Attention to Detail: Sound attention to detail, with the ability to spot anomalies or potential issues in system performance.

Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with both technical and non-technical staff to resolve operational issues.
