Senior Manager - Operations Quality
Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Operations Compliance, is responsible for managing and executing key compliance initiatives under the direction of the Operations Compliance Lead and Associate Director. This role focuses on the implementation and maintenance of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards, operational risk management processes, and the development and upkeep of operational policies and procedures across various operational workstreams. The Senior Manager will drive adherence to internal standards and external regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
QHSE System Implementation and Monitoring

Manage the implementation of specific QHSE programs and initiatives within assigned operational areas.

Conduct regular QHSE inspections and audits to identify non-compliance, hazards, and areas for improvement.

Support the investigation of QHSE incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.

Monitor and report on QHSE performance metrics.
Risk Management Support

Assist in the facilitation of operational risk assessments and the development of risk mitigation plans.

Support the maintenance of the operational risk register and track the implementation of risk treatment actions.

Promote risk awareness and sound risk management practices within operational teams.
Policy and Procedure Development and Maintenance

Lead the development or revision of specific operational policies, procedures, and standards in collaboration with workstream subject matter experts.

Ensure that policies and procedures are clearly documented, communicated effectively, and regularly reviewed for relevance and accuracy.

Assist in maintaining the central repository for policies and procedures.
Compliance Training and Awareness

Develop and deliver targeted training sessions on QHSE, risk management, and specific compliance topics to operational staff.

Contribute to initiatives aimed at fostering a strong compliance culture across the organization.

Plan and execute internal compliance audits based on the audit schedule.

Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective action requests.

Track the closure of audit findings and report on compliance status.
Stakeholder Communication

Communicate quality expectations, goals, and results effectively to team members and management.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure that operational quality set standards support overall business objectives.
Leadership and Development

Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to any future team members dedicated to quality management functions.

Assist the Operations Compliance Lead in strategic planning for the quality function.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in QHSE, operational compliance, or risk management.

Demonstrated experience in implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and developing policies/procedures.

Knowledge of relevant local and international regulations and standards.

Professional certifications in QHSE (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate, GradIOSH), risk management, or auditing (e.g., Internal Auditor for ISO standards).

Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Communicates well and consistently to large teams of the workforce.
