A Supervisory team role working as a member of a 24/7 shift system to provide leadership to the team as well as supporting vessel berthing assistance and marina operational support.
Good communication, personal presentation, and reporting skills are required, as is the ability to work night shifts.
To provide clear communication and present clear reporting skills in the execution of the position, with the ability to problem solve and take initiative.
Lead the dockside assistance for guest movements and assign visitor berthing, able to work without close management.
Lead the response in respect to the safety of the marina and vessel assets in all emergencies.
Job Responsibilities
Pre-opening
Support the on-the-job training of Jnr Dockhands.
Strong maintenance and fault-finding focus, to support the creation of a snagging list of the marina prior to handover/acceptance of the marina
Supporting scheduling creation and basic reporting functions.
Supports the development of site-specific SOPs through the provision of feedback and adjustments, working with management to train improvements to the team.
Any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
Informs manager of any matter of concern to marina.
Adopting a flexible approach towards working times as may be reasonably required to properly fulfil their duties.
Ensure vessels in the marina are securely moored and protected from damage at all times, communicating with the Captains and crew as required.
Operational
Assisting guests and crews with services as they may reasonably request.
Leading the routine checks, cleaning, repair, and maintenance of the pontoons, marina workboats, and marina facility.
Leading the cleaning and washing of vessels as per roster/operational requirements, ensuring adherence to SOP’s and monitoring the use of company resources.
Cleaning and tidying marina and jetties, removing litter from the sea, and emptying garbage bins.
Managing the inventory, safe storage, and using the correct cleaning chemicals for the correct incidence, and following product instructions and usage procedures.
Strong basic maintenance skills to support marina maintenance and show initiative in the action of repairs.
Assess the cleanliness of the marina and proactively lead the cleaning and polishing of fittings and fixtures as required.
Ensuring all public areas are clean, tidy, and presentable always.
Driving club cars for passenger, luggage, and garbage duties.
Daily, weekly, and accident reporting using diaries and administrative forms as well as adequate computer skills for the use of marina management reporting.
Active involvement in all training programs and learning additional skills, championing the customer service training programs.
Supervising and executing operations at marina fuel docks and fuel payment handling.
Leading the dockhand team supporting the vessel movements, line handling, and rescue with own initiative.
Driving of the marina workboat (with correct license and proven skills) to support berthing, emergency procedures, and any towing as required.
Assisting at special events, exhibitions, and promotions.
Championing all Health, Safety & environmental policies as well as all company guidelines. Ensuring that these are adhered to by all, reporting any variances to the marina management team.
Able to apply the knowledge of RSG processes across to other marina, should it be required.
Ensure all marina rules and regulations are followed, educating yacht crew as needed, supporting the proactive resolution of basic infractions, and maintaining details of these in reports to the manager.
In times of poor weather will be scheduled for additional shifts, or alternatively, remain on call in case of emergency.
Showing no restraint in order to save life or property in the event of an emergency, following company ERP and protocols.

Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
A good secondary education.
Middle East experience ideally in KSA would be advantageous.
Ability to work physically in the outdoors, carrying up to 23kg.
Able to swim/ move safely through the water for 50 m.
First Aid training.
Basic fire fighting knowledge, with previous training preferred.
Previous experience within a marina, yachting or watersports environment with knowledge of marina equipment
Skills
Good communication skills including clear handwriting.
Ability to communicate of UHF and/or VHF with yachting vocabulary.
A positive attitude and customer-centered approach.
