Senior Manager - Projects Risk
Job Purpose:
Implement the Project Risk Management framework across the the entire program and specific domains. The role requires the management of risk and issues registers, facilitation of monitoring forums and computation of KPIs. The role will also require the quality review of outputs provided by direct reports.
Job responsibilities:
Strategic Contribution
Provide subject matter expertise in the elimination and /or minimisation of threats across projects towards timely and cost-effective delivery of projects
Leadership
- Synthesize risk hotspots and trends towards development of bespoke response plans.
- Promote a ‘risk aware culture’ across the Project and Program teams.
- Enable ‘risk aware decision making’ through quantification of schedule and cost risk impacts (QSRA and QCRA respectively) in projects across all stages of the project lifecycle.
People Management
- Provide training in technical aspects of Risk Management across the Project teams.
- Supervise and evaluate employees’ performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize potential and engagement of employees through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.
- Be a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG’s vision, mission, values, fundamentals, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated employees’ and continuously improve performance
Functional Management
- Maintain an up to date Risk & Responses Register with measurement of effectiveness.
- Maintain an up to date Issue & Solutions Register with measurement of effectiveness.
- Review Early Warning Notices for applicability as risk and measure the statistics of closure rate.
- Develop and issue the Project Risk Report at monthly frequency.
- Compute KPI and issue the improvement plans to Project teams where needed.
- Contribute to the Quarterly Risk Report developed by the Project Risk Director.
- Use the Power BI report for management of gaps in risk identification.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or formal qualifications in Risk Management from Institute of Risk Management, Project Management Institue, etc.
- Proven 10+ years of experience of implementing Risk Management in recognised international / national infrastructure projects worth above $500 million.
- Developing and implementing risk management across projects and programmes.
- Experience of developing and implementing Enterprise Risk Management and Project Risk Management frameworks (ISO 31000, COSO, PMBoK, etc.).
- Statistical Modelling of Programs and Projects Schedule Risk (QSRA) using Acumen Fuse, Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk for Microsoft Project, etc.
- Statistical Modelling of Programs and Project Cost Risk (QCRA) using @Risk, Model Risk, Safran Risk or Crystal Ball or other industry standard software.
- Experience of maintaining risks on databases (Active Risk Manager, Enablon, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Project Controls with focus on Planning and Commercial.
- Experience of presenting risk information & interacting with Executive Directors.
