Senior Director - Contract Logistics

Role:

Reporting to the Head of Logistics of Supply Chain and Logistics, this role will be responsible for ensuring the successful operations of the RSG supply chain, transportation, and logistics operations for our destination. The role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless and world-class operations for various resorts, including Catering, Laundry, and other logistical requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and implement the strategic agenda of the department to deliver RSG vision and mission.
  • Implement the Supply Chain and Logistics departmental strategy department and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy.

 

Leadership

  • Ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to TRSDC vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance.

 

Budget 

  • Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

 

Supply Chain and Logistics

  • Contribute to the Development and implementation of Logistics strategies, create and execute comprehensive strategies to optimize supply chain and logistics functions across all resorts, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Provide guidance to the team leaders of supply chain, effectively leading and motivating them to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Oversee Vendor Management function, ensure establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers, negotiating favorable contracts and ensuring the delivery of top-quality goods and services.
  • Implementation of SCM systems to enhance supply chain and logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to coordinate transportation and distribution of goods, overseeing delivery schedules, and ensuring timely arrivals.
  • Monitor and analyze operational costs related to transportation, procurement, storage, and distribution, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.
  • Lead the development of quality control standards for all incoming supplies, ensuring consistency and meeting the hospitality standards of our resorts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations, legal requirements, and company policies, mitigating risk in all supply chain and logistics activities.

 

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Ensure that RSCTC adhere to all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

 

 

Safety, Quality & Environment 

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

 

Continuous Improvement  

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree will be considered a plus.
  • Proven experience of at least 15 -20 years minimum in supply chain management, logistics, or related roles, preferably in the hospitality industry or luxury resort operations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, logistics operations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using supply chain management software, inventory management systems, and other relevant technological tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze complex data and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome supply chain and logistics challenges.
