Manager - Logistics
Job Purpose:
The Warehouse Manager is a leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across inbound, picking, inventory, and outbound flows in a high-volume FMCG environment. The role provides strategic oversight of day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring safety, compliance, accurate order fulfilment, and customer satisfaction. This position manages a team of warehouse associates and champions best practices. It implements continuous improvement to deliver cost efficiency, space optimisation, and a resilient, high-performing workforce in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, coach, and hold accountable warehouse staff to achieve performance targets, maintain productivity, and drive engagement.
- Operational Oversight: Direct inbound, outbound, and picking processes to ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Inventory Management: Safeguard stock integrity through audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation of SAP/WMS systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce HSE, ISO, and SFDA standards, ensuring a zero-incident workplace and full regulatory compliance.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, transport, and project teams to ensure seamless execution and timely deliveries.
- Performance & Reporting: Monitor KPIs, generate reports on accuracy, productivity, and cost, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Problem-Solving: Address operational challenges, such as shortages, equipment downtime, or discrepancies, with practical solutions.
- Process Improvement: Drive adoption of lean methodologies, digital tools, and innovative practices to improve speed, cost efficiency, and service quality.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and retain talent, fostering succession planning and professional growth.
- Housekeeping & Equipment: Oversee warehouse cleanliness, pest control, waste management, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders, representing the warehouse function in meetings and audits.
- Security Management: Maintain strict warehouse security protocols, including access control, CCTV, and restricted zones; safeguard high-value stock and investigate breaches.
Job Requirements:
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ warehouse experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Proven track record in FMCG or high-volume distribution environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP/WMS, stock control, and warehouse KPIs.
- Experience in regulatory compliance (ISO, SFDA, HSE).
