Job Information:
As Freight Forwarding Manager, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling end-to-end international freight operations across air, sea, and land transport modes. The role ensures timely, compliant, and cost-effective shipment execution including regulated cargo such as food & beverage perishables, dangerous goods, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, and trading commodities. You will lead operational execution, manage freight forwarders and carriers, monitor shipment performance, ensure compliance with international trade regulations, and maintain strong governance and documentation control across all freight activities.
Job Responsibilities:
The Freight Forwarding Manager is responsible for:
- Plan and supervise international shipments from origin collection to final destination delivery.
- Manage daily and weekly freight execution priorities across all modes (air, sea, land).
- Monitor shipment milestones and track orders using operational tracking systems and internal tools.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Clearance, Insurance, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth cargo flow.
- Manage freight flows for perishables, temperature-controlled cargo, dangerous goods, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, and trading commodities.
- Ensure correct handling of regulated cargo in compliance with IATA DGR, IMDG Code, and applicable transport regulations.
- Monitor and report freight costs and support cost benchmarking initiatives.
- Ensure shipping documents are accurate, complete, and properly filed.
- Research and implement cost-effective routing and consolidation strategies.
- Conduct operational audits to ensure shipment compliance and risk mitigation.
- Organize training sessions related to freight procedures, regulated cargo handling, and documentation control.
- Maintain organized records of shipments, routes, service providers, and completed transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, trade regulations, and shipping legislation.
- Stay up to date with international freight regulations and safety standards.
Job Requirements:
- Recognized degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in international freight forwarding operations.
- Proven experience handling:
• Multimodal freight (air, sea, land)
• Dangerous goods shipments
• Food & beverage perishables
• Temperature-controlled cargo
• Cosmetics and pharmaceutical products
• Trading and commercial import flows
Professional certifications preferred (FIATA, CILT, IATA DG, CSCP, PMP).
