Main Stakeholders: Senior Director Marine Construction; Head of Construction

 

Job Summary:

 

As the Marine Logistics Operations Director at Red Sea Global, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and efficient execution of all logistics movements, encompassing materials, labor, staff/management, and equipment. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Marine and Marina, you will lead a dynamic team of approximately 120 members, with the expectation of expansion as our construction projects grow. Projects are geographically dispersed along the Red Sea coast.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Logistics Management:

   - Oversee and optimize the movement of materials, laborers, staff/management, and equipment to meet company objectives.

   - Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall logistics performance.

   - Ensure compliance with local and international regulations governing marine logistics operations.

 

2. Team Leadership:

   - Manage and lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

   - Drive workforce planning initiatives to meet the growing demands of construction projects.

 

3. Scheduling and Day-to-Day Operations:

   - Develop and maintain comprehensive schedules for all logistics movements, ensuring timely delivery against project timelines.

   - Oversee day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to guarantee smooth workflow.

 

4. Supply Chain Vessel Management:

   - Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage and optimize supply chain vessels.

   - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the supply chain to ensure seamless operations.

 

5. Service Jetty Management:

   - Manage service jetties, coordinating activities and ensuring they align with project requirements.

   - Oversee contractor agreements related to service jetties, ensuring compliance and performance standards are met.

 

6. Budget Oversight:

   - Manage and optimize the budget for the marine logistics operations department, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.

   - Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management.

 

7. Risk Management:

   - Identify potential risks and challenges in logistics operations and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies.

   - Collaborate with relevant departments to implement risk management protocols.

 

8. Technology Integration:

   - Explore and implement innovative technologies to enhance logistics operations efficiency.

   - Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in marine logistics technology.

 

9. Environmental and Safety Compliance:

   - Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all logistics operations.

   - Implement and monitor safety protocols to create a secure working environment.

 

10. Continuous Improvement:

    - Establish a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to suggest and implement process enhancements.

    - Conduct regular assessments of logistics operations and implement improvements based on performance metrics.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in marine logistics operations.

- Proven track record of successful leadership in managing large teams and complex logistics operations.

- Strong understanding of local and international regulations governing marine logistics.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
