Director - Landscape Architecture

Job Purpose

To Manage the Golf Course Design and Implementation process as part of the RSG Landscape Design Management Tea.

Job Responsibilities - Functional

Strategic Contribution 

  • Participate in drafting RFPs for RSG golf endeavors
  • Develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables list for Golf Course Architect and each related discipline.
  • Complete technical review of all RFP submissions
  • Develop a Design Delivery Schedule including Project Director, Design Managers and consultants.
  • Offer strategic guidance on the establishment of Technical Design standards, and philosophy.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the relevant design and master planning consultants.
  • Establish communication paths to resolve possible design issues, provide guidance that align with the project requirements.
  • Control-monitor-provide-technical support on every design stage of programs.
  • Monitor and provide technical support to construction team and reassure compliance to project specifications and requirements.
  • Develop reports and possible alternative design considerations as needed following communication with Golf Course Consultant. Comment regarding constructability of the design, constraints, and solutions that align with the program vision, budget, time and quality.
  • Directly liaise with RSG Sustainability and Enviro Teams regarding the project scope and achievement of GEO Certification
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, administrative, and regulatory requirements

Job Responsibilities - Leadership

 

Leadership 
• Coordinate the activities of the Landscape Architecture team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures. 
• Manage the team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals. 
• Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance. 

Budget 
• Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget for the Landscape Architecture function and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Job Responsibilities - Organizational

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality and Environment
• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the department's systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Senior stakeholders, Architecture, Development, MEP and any RSG function as needed.

Service providers, vendors, consultants, subcontractors and contractors.

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience

  • A recognized Golf Design or Golf Maintenance Qualification
  • 20+ years’ experience in Golf Design Management and Site Implementation

Job Context

Landscape Architecture Director will primarily be based in TRSDC HQ and/or project site and will conduct site visits and business trips as needed.
