Job Purpose

  • Lead real estate Projects and strategies.
  • Oversee implementation of all design and development guidelines, multidiscipline coordination, Project processes and systems as per RSG manuals to achieve robust and compliant Technical Delivery of Projects from Design to Defects Liability Period stage.
  • Provide 'hands-on' leadership to D+E team at Project level to ensure excellence, efficiency and accuracy in technical delivery at every stage milestone. Ensure achievement of Project delivery as per RSG objectives and mutually agreed Contracts with Consultants and Contractors.
  • Create extraordinary real estate destinations through a deliberate process adopting excellence in design and construction, design and Project management, package-based delivery, BIM implementation, QAQC, Sustainability and Design/Build-to-Budget from Design to Defect Liability Period stage.

Job Responsibilities - Leadership

  • Support Technical Lead on Programs and lead Projects from Design to Defects Liability Period stage.
  • Set direction for D+E team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently in line with the strategic plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Proactively support Design and Construction Procurement as required.
  • Apply leadership skills by motivating employees to enable them to reach their individual potential.
  • Promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with the other Directors to provide a creative, innovative and nurturing environment throughout the studios by developing an effective coaching/mentoring programme.
  • Demonstrate ability to build consensus, facilitate informed decisions, present at group-level meetings and communicate through illustrations, verbally and in-writing.

Design & Engineering

  • Provide 'hands-on' implementation of strategy and development of management plan for technical delivery from Design to Defects Liability Period specific to the Program, Project and Assets. Implement procurement strategies, packaging, deliverables, QA/QC implementation, time-schedule, budget, BIM, authority approvals/noc and sustainability to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support a transparent Consultant and Contractor procurement to appoint capable and cost-efficient provisions in line with RSG standards.
  • Develop a detailed deliverable schedule where the managers define packages as road map for Consultants and Contractors to lead them through the Project ensuring that time and cost are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure detailed reviews are undertaken and feedback is provided on Consultant and Contractor submissions at all stages inorder to align cost-plan and ensure compliance with RSG standards and overall objectives.
  • Monitor Project progress through site visits, observe and review reports from managers to ensure that Project implementation is progressing according to plan and that the development and engineering aspects comply with Contract Documents.
  • Manage relationships with Consultants, Contractors, suppliers and vendors, plan upcoming works, oversee the quality of work, and recommend appropriate design material specifications to ensure that project delivery date and parameters are met.
  • Manage identification, assessment, and mitigation of different changes and risks to the Project to create preventative risk methods and avoid potential delays and added cost.
  • Provide technical direction to the management team, as needed. Report on Project status to senior management, particularly on cost monitoring.
  • Oversee Project closeout upon notice from Contractor that the Work, or a designated portion thereof, is sufficiently complete as per Contract Documents to permit occupancy or utilization for use for which it is intended.

People Management

  • Participate in and provide leadership for the talent planning efforts.
  • Evaluate employee performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize potential and engagement of employees through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Communicate employee issues and requests to the Senior Director upon becoming aware of the issue to avoid escalation.  
  • Encourage innovation and excellence with the team.
  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources and continuously improve performance.

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or any related field.
  • PMP or equivalent (preferred).
  • AIA/RIBA certified or equivalent (preferred).
  • LEED, WELL certified or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience in sustainable design on atleast one Project (preferred).
  • Minimum 12 years PGE on Hotel, Resort, Residential and Staff Accommodations in Marine and Coastal Desert Context. Min.05years in managerial position.
  • Expertise in technical Project delivery and Contract review.
  • Familiarity with BIM, deliverables and terminology in Contracts.

Job Context

Director will be based at Project sites and/or RSG HQ; and will conduct site visits and business trips as needed.
