Associate Director - Hospitality Development
Job Purpose
To assist the Directors of Hospitality Development in the development of The Red Sea Global Company’s (RSG) Hotel portfolio; including reviewing design and development of 3 to 5 star hotel properties as required by the department; in accordance with RSG’s aspirations, ensuring operational and design efficiency, guest satisfaction, profitability, business development and growth as per RSG’s vision and business plans. Operationally assess, review and feedback on all hotel’s technical services matters to the RSG Hospitality Team.
Job Responsibilities - Leadership
Hospitality Design and Management
- Lead the review all Hotel FOH and BOH drawings, presentations, reports, specifications, including related design elements at all interim and stage gateway submissions for RSG’s hospitality projects in order to provide an operational view of the components and the scale of the project.
- Support the RSG Hospitality Team’s Executive Director in all design phases for RSG’s hospitality projects through coordinating architecture, interior design, landscape design and all other designs as prepared by the appointed consultants work in a timely and effective manner as per RSDG’s policies and procedures and project-specific approvals from management.
- Liaise with Hotel Operators and other third-party Design and Technical Services teams.
- Assist the RSG Development, Design & Delivery Teams and Hospitality Department colleagues in securing reviews and responses from Hotel Operators to Technical Services queries and design reviews within the time limit prescribed by the Hotel Operator’s Technical Services.
Job Responsibilities - Functional
- Lead review of material submission including coordination with Operators to ensure any variation from approved Detailed Design equipment schedules are fully understood and accepted in writing by Operators.
- Actively liaise with international Operators and the Design/Development Teams to control application of design guidelines, brand standards, design briefs and other Operator generated documents within the design.
- Lead review of Interior Design layouts for all areas of the hotels as required by the Department and the Design Team, including review of Operators comments.
- Participate in design meetings, workshops, business trips and site inspections as required by the business and in accordance with Company policies.
Job Responsibilities - Organizational
Development Management
- Provide support to the TRSDC Development Team in relation to all operational and guest experience design matters during the design and construction phases of TRSDC’s hospitality projects.
- Manage both contractual and non-contractual relationships with the appointed operators to ensure effective delivery of documentation, drawings, reports, specifications and all other operator reviews and services as per defined quality guidelines and service level agreements.
- Ensure effective management of all hospitality development activities in accord with defined business plans while continuously striving to achieve standards of excellence in line with global best practices.
- Ensure effective liaison with design and procurement teams for timely and efficient procurement of FF&E purchases and OS&E for TRSDC’s hospitality projects.
Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design or Engineering or any related field.
- Hotel Design and Planning experience is essential.
- Previous experience as an Operator Technical Services team member is essential.
- Minimum 18 years out of which 10+ years of relevant hotel design or technical services experience.
