Associate Director - Architecture
Job Purpose
Direct the design compliance activities for Red Sea Global (RSG) projects according to the set guidelines, specifications and standards in order to ensure efficient and accurate designs and implementation by service providers, consultants and contractors and create value in all RSG projects.
Job Responsibilities - Leadership
Strategic Contribution
• Assist with the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and execute the strategic agenda of the Architecture function to deliver RSG vision and mission.
• Ensure that the architectural strategy is translated into operational business plans for the design compliance function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans in order to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy.
Leadership
• Coordinate the activities of the design compliance team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
• Manage the team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
• Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to RSG vision, mission, values, fundamentals and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance.
Budget
• Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget for the Architecture function and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Job Responsibilities - Functional
Architecture Operations
• Assist in coordinating the preparation and development of schematic diagrams in order to provide a general view of the architectural components and the scale of the project following and preceding detailed discussions, and to facilitate the service provider/ consultant selection.
• Assist in the service provider/ consultant selection processes to identify capable and cost-efficient suppliers, in line with RSG standards.
• Ensure detailed feedback is provided on consultant and service provider documentation at all stages of the project from initial concept to construction documentation, in order to ensure projects are compliant with the RSG's standards and overall objectives.
• Assist in implementing rigorous and effective value engineering and scope management techniques to achieve the forecast budgets and required project hurdle rates without loss of quality and design intent.
• Oversee the design compliance activities throughout all design phases to ensure RSG and international standards are in place.
• Report on status project status and design compliance and progress to senior management, particularly concerning monitoring of cost.
• Assist in monitoring the progress and completion of projects, report and handle on potential issues or delays to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the project.
• Follow up on all necessary work permits and approvals in accordance with prevailing laws and regulation before the commencement of work on projects in coordination with RSG concerned parties and local authorities.

• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.

• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the department's systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements - Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or any related field.
• Minimum of 10 to 12 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of managerial experience.

Job Context
Associate Director Architecture will primarily be based in RSG HQ and may conduct site visits as needed.
