Job Purpose:
- The Marina Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all marina infrastructure, facilities, and equipment.
- The role ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards while maintaining high operational efficiency.
- This involves leading a team of maintenance staff, planning preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting the smooth operation of marina activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for marina infrastructure, including pontoons, deck planks, utilities, marina mooring buoys, anchoring systems, mooring boats, safety equipment, and other gear.
- Regularly inspect marina facilities to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
- Oversee and guide the maintenance team, delegating tasks and evaluating performance.
- Coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs and monitor their performance to ensure quality.
- Maintain and inspect fire safety systems, spill response kits, and other emergency equipment.
- Ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Keep an inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment to ensure readiness for urgent repairs.
- Offer technical support during marina expansions or upgrades.
- Collaborate with the Senior Marina Manager and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Respond quickly to client concerns about infrastructure or equipment.
- Document maintenance activities and create reports for management review.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of five years of experience in facilities or maintenance management is preferred, ideally within a marina or maritime environment.
- Strong knowledge of marina infrastructure, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, carpentry, boat and engine maintenance, and safety equipment.
- Experience in team management and contractor coordination.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and fundamental IT skills.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices for marina operations.
Job Context:
- This role requires regular on-site presence at the marina, with exposure to outdoor conditions and varying weather. The job holder must be available for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and may need to conduct physical inspections and maintenance tasks as necessary.
