Job Purpose

The Manager – Dive Operations is a site-based leadership role responsible for overseeing the setup, operational readiness, and ongoing management of the dive center at the assigned asset. The role includes supporting the recruitment and development of the dive team, implementing operational systems, and ensuring that all facilities, programs, and procedures meet world-class safety and service standards.

Once operational, the Manager will lead the day-to-day execution of all diving and underwater tourism activities. This includes managing guest experiences, team performance, safety compliance, retail and sales operations, and alignment with environmental guidelines and Red Sea Global brand standards. The role also involves supervising dive excursions, overseeing training and certification activities, and ensuring a professional and efficient operation that consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences.


Job Responsibilities

General

  • Report directly to the Galaxea Cluster Manager and support the establishment and operational setup of the dive center.

  • Ensure the efficient daily operation of the dive center.

  • Assist in the development of additional dive centers across other assets when required.

  • Support the Galaxea Cluster Manager in building and training the dive team.

  • Manage the dive team of up to 13 colleagues, ensuring high performance and professional conduct.

  • Collaborate with Sustainability and SEZ departments on environmental considerations related to Marine Life and Underwater Tourism assets.

  • Work remotely when necessary and attend office meetings as required.

  • Ensure all colleagues comply with the DSM and Red Sea Global Dive Safety Manual.

Establishment of Dive Center – Pre-Opening

  • Work with the Galaxea Cluster Manager to plan, develop, and deliver all components of the dive center.

  • Coordinate with relevant RSG departments during the delivery phase to meet operational targets, ensure timely phasing, and align final outcomes with design specifications.

Establishment of Dive Center – Post-Opening

  • Manage and uphold operational standards, with safety as the top priority.

  • Ensure all diving activities are executed professionally and in accordance with industry standards.

  • Ensure all courses are taught safely and in compliance with training agency standards.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all dive center activities.

  • Oversee and coordinate sales operations, including the dive retail outlet.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and guests.

Media Coverage

  • Support the Destination Development team in capturing media content (photo/video) when required.

  • Media assistance is secondary to core job duties and undertaken only as requested by the Galaxea Cluster Manager or senior management.

Policies, Systems, Processes, and Reporting

  • Implement and follow all relevant policies, SOPs, processes, and instructions to ensure consistent and controlled dive center operations.

  • Support the preparation of accurate reports, MIS statements, and documentation as required.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Comply with and enforce all safety, quality, and environmental management policies.

  • Ensure legislative compliance and maintain a responsible environmental approach in all operational activities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and support improvements to dive center systems, processes, and practices.

  • Contribute to efficiency enhancements, cost reduction initiatives, and alignment with international best practices.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • PADI Instructor certification.

  • Minimum 500 logged dives.

  • Certified at least 50 students across all core courses.

  • Experience in dive center and/or resort management across different geographic locations.

  • Strong background in dive operations, resort operations, and hospitality.

  • Demonstrated experience in diving health and safety.

  • Proven track record in diving operations across various regions.

  • Experience with equipment management and maintenance.

  • Experience in dive retail operations.

  • Knowledge of marine conservation practices.

  • Valid Fit to Dive Medical.

  • Skills in underwater photography and/or videography.

  • Capable of coordinating dive center administration and planning.

Desirable Skills

  • Additional language skills (preferably Arabic).

  • Social media content creation abilities.

  • Marine species identification knowledge (fish, invertebrates, reptiles, mammals).

  • Technical workshop skills for major equipment brands.
