Job Purpose

The Dive Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in the establishment, setup, and management of Galaxea Dive Centres across designated assets. This site-based position is responsible for ensuring all diving operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and to world-class standards.

The role involves overseeing daily dive operations, guest experiences, staff training and performance, safety compliance, and maintenance of dive equipment and facilities. The Dive Operations Manager ensures that every guest experience reflects Red Sea Global’s commitment to excellence, environmental stewardship, and sustainability.


Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Galaxea Cluster Manager.

  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day dive operations at the assigned site.

  • Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe, professional, and guest-focused manner.

  • Support the development and setup of new dive centres across other assets as required.

  • Manage a team of dive professionals, ensuring alignment with RSG’s brand, safety, and service standards.

  • Coordinate closely with Sustainability and SEZ departments on environmental and marine life protection.

  • Ensure full adherence to the DSM Red Sea Global Dive Safety Manual.

  • Maintain open communication and effective collaboration with colleagues, guests, and external partners.

  • Work remotely and attend office meetings as necessary.


Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Assist the Galaxea Cluster Manager in developing and delivering the dive centre and operational infrastructure.

  • Support in recruitment, onboarding, and training of dive personnel.

  • Collaborate with RSG departments during the delivery phase to ensure timely completion, operational readiness, and compliance with design and quality standards.

  • Establish operational SOPs, dive schedules, and guest experience workflows.


Post-Opening Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily diving operations with a primary focus on safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

  • Supervise dive instructors, guides, and support teams to maintain the highest professional standards.

  • Ensure compliance with training agency standards (e.g., PADI) for all dive courses and programs.

  • Maintain accurate records of diving activities, certifications, and equipment maintenance.

  • Monitor and manage retail sales, dive packages, and other dive-related revenue streams.

  • Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and staff briefings.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence within the team.


Policies, Systems, and Standards

  • Implement and uphold all relevant policies, standard operating procedures, and operational guidelines.

  • Ensure consistent compliance with all RSG safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Prepare and submit accurate operational and performance reports to the Galaxea Cluster Manager.


Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Promote and enforce safety and environmental best practices across all diving activities.

  • Ensure dive operations meet or exceed legislative and internal safety standards.

  • Support environmental initiatives and marine conservation projects.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvements to dive operations, processes, and guest experiences.

  • Encourage innovation, cost efficiency, and sustainable operational practices.


Stakeholder Relationships

Internal: RSG Destination Development, Group Environment & Sustainability, Red Sea Zone Authority.
External: Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Universities, and other regulatory bodies.


Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certified PADI Instructor (or equivalent professional-level certification).

  • Minimum 500 logged dives.

  • Certified at least 50 students across core courses.

  • Proven experience managing dive centre operations or resort-based dive programs.

  • Strong background in hospitality, guest relations, and dive business management.

  • Solid understanding of dive equipment management and maintenance.

  • Experience in marine conservation, health & safety, and diving operations in various geographic regions.

  • Fit-to-Dive medical certification.

  • Underwater photography or videography experience is a plus.

  • Ability to coach and develop staff in guest experience delivery and dive operations.


Desirable Skills

  • Additional spoken language (Arabic preferred).

  • Social media content skills (photo/video posting).

  • Strong marine life identification abilities (fish, invertebrates, reptiles, and mammals).

  • Technical workshop skills for dive equipment maintenance.

  • First Aid and CPR certification.
