Job Purpose
The Dive Center Divemaster (Instructor) is a site-based role responsible for delivering exceptional guest diving experiences and supporting instructional programs. The primary objectives of this role are to lead guided dives and assist in teaching diving courses in accordance with PADI standards.
The Divemaster supports the Dive Center Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations of all dive and underwater tourism activities at the designated site. This includes maintaining professional safety standards, preparing equipment and facilities, supporting sales, and representing the dive center in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
General Operations

Support the Dive Center Manager in day-to-day dive operations and ensure smooth functioning of all diving activities.

Assist the Senior Manager with the setup and development of dive centers across other destinations.

Support the delivery of diving courses in full compliance with PADI standards.

Lead guided dives for visiting divers, ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.

Prepare dive boats, equipment, and teaching environments daily.

Assist with tank filling, inventory management, and maintaining the dive center’s professional appearance.

Collaborate with Sustainability and SEZ departments to ensure environmental compliance and alignment with RSG’s marine conservation principles.

Operate remotely as needed and attend office meetings when required.
Pre-Opening Phase
-
Collaborate with the Senior Manager in the setup and operational readiness of the dive center.

Support cross-departmental coordination to achieve project milestones during the delivery phase.

Familiarize with local dive sites and assess their suitability for different diving experiences.
Post-Opening Operations
-
Lead dive excursions, ensuring all activities are performed safely and professionally.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PADI courses, materials, and standards.

Accurately record and maintain teaching and diving activity documentation.

Support retail sales and promote dive center products and experiences.

Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, management, and guests.
Policies, Systems, and Procedures

Adhere to all operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines to maintain consistency and control in operations.
Safety, Quality & Environmental Standards

Ensure all activities follow RSG’s safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Promote responsible diving and environmental stewardship.

Guarantee guest and staff safety at all times through proactive risk management and adherence to emergency procedures.
Continuous Improvement

Contribute to ongoing enhancements in operational systems, guest experience, and sustainability practices, aligning with international best practices.
Job Stakeholders

Internal: Dive Center Manager, Operations Team, Sustainability, SEZ, HR, and other supporting departments.

External: Guests, diving certification bodies (PADI), suppliers, and local authorities.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
-
Certified and renewed PADI Divemaster with a proven track record across multiple diving destinations.

Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification preferred.

Minimum 250 logged dives.
-
Strong background in dive operations, equipment management, and dive retail.

Experience in hospitality, guest relations, and safety management.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of marine conservation principles.
-
Must hold a valid “Fit to Dive” medical certification.

Desirable Skills

Proficiency in an additional language (Arabic preferred).

EFR Instructor or DSD Leader certification (renewed).

Skills in underwater photography/videography.
-
Knowledge of marine life identification (fish, invertebrates, reptiles, mammals).

Certified powerboat operator.
-
Experience in dive equipment servicing and maintenance workshops.
-
Social media and content creation skills are an advantage.
