Job Purpose
The Instructor – Adventure is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and memorable land-based adventure experiences across The Red Sea destination. Working under the guidance of the Senior Instructor – Adventure and Adventure Management, the role facilitates a variety of outdoor activities while ensuring exceptional guest service, operational readiness, and compliance with all safety standards.
The Instructor supports the preparation of adventure venues, equipment, vehicles, and activity locations, ensuring all assets are maintained to the highest operational standards. The role also contributes to environmental stewardship, guest education, and the continuous enhancement of AKUN's adventure experiences through professionalism, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Adventure Operations

Deliver guided land-based adventure activities in accordance with approved operating procedures and RSSE service standards.

Conduct guest safety briefings and equipment demonstrations before each activity.

Supervise guests throughout activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment.

Assess guest capability and adjust activities where appropriate to maintain safety and experience quality.

Monitor weather conditions, terrain, and environmental factors before and during activities.

Support the safe operation of hiking, trekking, mountain biking, climbing, archery, high ropes, quad biking, and other adventure experiences as required.

Maintain a professional, positive, and guest-focused approach throughout every experience.

Promote environmental awareness and responsible outdoor recreation, including Leave No Trace principles.
Equipment & Asset Management

Prepare, inspect, clean, and maintain adventure equipment before and after each activity.

Report damaged, defective, or missing equipment promptly.
-
Assist with loading, transporting, setting up, and dismantling equipment and operational assets.

Maintain equipment inventories and complete required inspection records.
-
Ensure activity areas, trails, and operational facilities remain clean, safe, and guest-ready.
Guest Experience

Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the guest journey.

Provide clear activity instructions and encourage guest participation.

Respond professionally to guest enquiries and resolve minor concerns where appropriate.

Escalate guest complaints or operational issues to the Senior Instructor or management.

Create memorable experiences that reflect RSSE's luxury hospitality standards.
Safety & Compliance

Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), and safety requirements.

Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and safety checks.

Monitor guests for signs of fatigue, injury, or unsafe behaviour.

Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies in accordance with approved procedures.

Support accident reporting and incident documentation when required.
Team Support

Work collaboratively with Senior Instructors and the wider Adventure team.

Support operational setup, logistics, and daily activity scheduling.

Participate in training sessions, emergency drills, and operational briefings.
-
Assist with special events, promotional activities, and new experience launches.

Contribute ideas to improve guest experiences and operational efficiency.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Reporting

Comply with all company policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.

Complete operational reports, equipment inspection records, incident reports, and activity documentation accurately.

Maintain confidentiality of guest and operational information.

Report operational concerns, hazards, and maintenance requirements promptly.

Comply with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) requirements.

Promote a strong safety culture during all activities.

Qualifications & Experience
-
High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Outdoor Recreation, Sports, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related discipline is preferred.

Valid Wilderness First Aid or internationally recognised First Aid certification.

Basic Land Navigation and GPS navigation experience.
-
Leave No Trace certification is desirable.
-
At least one recognised National Governing Body (NGB) certification in an adventure activity such as climbing, mountain biking, archery, high ropes, quad biking, or similar.

Minimum 2–3 years' experience delivering outdoor adventure or recreation activities within tourism, hospitality, or sports operations.

Previous experience within luxury tourism or remote destinations is advantageous.
