Job Purpose:

  • The Divemaster – Dive Operations is a site-based role responsible for supporting dive operations and delivering safe, professional dive experiences for guests. The role focuses on leading guided dives and assisting instructors with training courses in accordance with PADI standards.
  • The Divemaster supports the Dive Center Manager in the efficient day-to-day operation of the dive center and contributes to the delivery of diving and underwater tourism activities within the designated asset.
  • This includes preparing dive operations, guiding dive excursions, assisting with training courses, maintaining dive center standards, supporting equipment and cylinder management, and contributing to retail sales activities.
  • The role also supports the development and sustainability of marine and underwater tourism initiatives while ensuring that all diving operations meet the highest safety and environmental standards

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

General Operations

  • Report directly to the Dive Center Manager and support the daily operations of the dive center.
  • Lead certified divers on guided dive excursions from the designated asset.
  • Assist instructors in delivering training courses in accordance with PADI standards.
  • Prepare dive boats, dive equipment, and training environments for daily operations.
  • Assist with cylinder filling and ensure proper organization and presentation of dive center facilities.
  • Maintain professional standards across all dive center operations, including guest service and equipment readiness.
  • Support dive retail operations and assist with dive-related sales activities.
  • Contribute to the development of additional dive centers across other assets when required.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability and SEZ departments to ensure responsible marine tourism practices.
  • Work remotely when required and attend office locations as necessary.

 

Dive Center Establishment – Pre-Opening

  • Support the Senior Manager in the development and operational setup of the dive center and related facilities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments during the delivery phase to ensure projects are completed in line with operational requirements.
  • Become familiar with dive sites within the operational range of the asset.

 

Dive Center Operations – Post-Opening

  • Lead dives in accordance with established safety procedures and professional standards.
  • Ensure all dive activities conducted by the dive center maintain the highest level of safety and professionalism.
  • Maintain familiarity with all PADI courses offered, including prerequisites, required materials, and documentation processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational records relating to dive activities and course support.
  • Support dive center retail operations and guest engagement.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, management, and guests.

 

Policies, Procedures and Compliance

  • Adhere to all company policies, operational procedures, and standard operating guidelines to ensure consistent and controlled dive center operations.

 

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies to ensure employee and guest safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote responsible environmental practices and support marine conservation initiatives.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Support initiatives aimed at improving dive center operations, service delivery, and operational efficiency in line with international best practices.

 

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active PADI Divemaster certification.
  • Minimum 250 logged dives.
  • Good knowledge of PADI training programs and course structure.
  • Proven experience within dive operations across different geographic locations.
  • Experience working in hospitality or guest-focused environments.
  • Knowledge of diving safety procedures and operational best practices.
  • Experience in dive equipment handling and maintenance.
  • Background in dive retail operations is preferred.
  • Understanding of marine conservation principles.
  • Valid Fit-to-Dive Medical Certificate.

  • Additional languages (preferably Arabic).
  • PADI DSD Leader qualification.
  • EFR Instructor certification (active).
  • Social media content creation and posting skills.
  • Underwater photography or videography experience.
  • Marine life identification skills (fish, invertebrates, reptiles, and mammals).
  • Technical workshop skills for dive equipment servicing.
  • Valid powerboat license.
